TSUCHIURA
CITY, JAPAN
I've
seen a lot of fan sites around the net mentioning where Mari
came from, but few do anything to show what it's like or how
it looks! Well....I've done some stumbling about and came up
with what I think are some pretty cool sites dealing with this
beautiful place.
Tsuchiura
City faces the western shore of Lake Kasumigaura, the second
largest lake in Japan. It is located 60km north from Tokyo and
close to the New Tokyo International Airport in Narita(40km).
Tsuchiura City has flourished as a commercial center since the
Edo Era and has become the core of southern Ibaraki Prefecture.
It is designated as one of core cities in the National Capital
Region.
The
links below may give you some insight into just how nice this
place looks!
More
than likely not where she went to school, but the site has some
pretty cool information and the site itself is VERY sharp!
A
site from the City of Tsuchiura, in Japanese of course, but
hey, you can't beat it for content!
Yep,
another school site, but this one has some really cool features,
such as details about each link from the main page as you mouse
over them! It's sites like this that assure me that Japan has
got some SERIOUS brainpower...of course I never doubted that!
This
site shows about 'dashi', a kind of float, or portable shrine,
plus a lot of links to sights and sounds!
